Vianet Group was established 22 years ago and has been an AIM listed business since 2006.  With over 300 customers including a number of global blue chip companies and more than 250,000 devices connected to our platform, our experience and knowledge combine to form a powerful technology and insight capability that few can match.

Strategy

Vianet’s mission is to help its customers make better decisions through delivering game changing strategic insight and actionable data that delivers a compelling return on investment for the customer. 
Today we primarily operate in Leisure and Vending markets, but our solutions are replicable across multiple industries.

Our ability to achieve this is underpinned by the power of big data that is rendered via our ‘Internet of Things’ platform. This has the flexibility and scale to support high volume M2M connections across multiple industries.

Directors
James Dickson
Non-Executive Chairman
BSc, MBA, Chartered Director (Executive Chairman from April 2013). Prior to joining Brulines in 2003, James had worked in the brewing industry since 1990. Following an MBA at IMD, Lausanne in 1989 he joined Scottish & Newcastle, where he held several posts including Operations Director, and National Account Director for Pub Groups and Wholesalers. In 1997 James joined Whitbread as UK Dispense Director before being appointed Marketing & Sales Director for Heineken.
Stewart Darling
Chief Executive Officer
Stewart is the Group’s Chief Executive Officer and was appointed a Director of the Company on 2 September 2009. Prior to joining Vianet he held several senior commercial and general management roles in consumer goods both in the UK and internationally. He is also a Non-Executive Director of the governing body for golf in Scotland.
Mark Foster
Chief Financial Officer
A KPMG trained qualified accountant of c30years, having worked in the electricity industry (National Power plc), Leased and Tenanted Pub industry (Pubmaster Ltd), wholesale distribution of industrial threaded fasteners and hand tools (Harrison and Clough Ltd) through to his current CFO role of the last ten years, which includes the Group’s company secretarial, health and safety, people and development and central support services departments. Mark is actively involved in the community, a keen sportsman and crocked Boro supporter.
Chris Williams
Non-Executive Director
Chris was with Whitbread PLC for nearly 30 years in a range of roles. Following AB InBev's acquisition of the Whitbread Beer Business, was Strategic Planning Director for the UK. Chris is also a trustee director of the AB InBev UK Pension Plan, and the Stag Brewery Pension Plan.
Mike McGoun
Non-Executive Director
Mike joined the company as Non Executive Director on 1st February 2014. Mike is also a Non-Executive Director of AIM listed Instem plc. After starting his career with ten years at IBM, Mike co-founded a successful ComputerLand franchise in 1984. This business was sold to SHL Systemhouse Inc. in Sept 1989. Mike stayed on to grow the business to over 800 employees operating across Europe. He has an MBA and a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Mike has also held positions as board director of Skillsgroup, as Non-Executive Chairman of Xpertise Group Plc and of Tikit group plc and as also Executive Director of Fraser Williams Group PLC and ARI Limited.

Steven Alton
Managing Director - Leisure division
Steven joined the Vianet business in 2011 having worked with clients applying technology to business challenges for over 20 years.  His experience in the fields of security, machine to machine solutions, telecommunications, IT and software applications has shown him how technology can help businesses deliver great service whilst delivering great levels of profit.  His previous roles include Managed and Professional Services Director at BT Engage IT, BT’s IT division delivering IT outsourcing and solution deployment, CEO of Redcare, the UK leading provider of monitored alarm services and several general management roles within BT. He enjoys being an active member of his local community in Derbyshire as a trustee for his village hall, school governor and occasionally ruins a good walk with golf clubs.
Matt Lane
Managing Director – Vending division
Matt is the Managing Director for Vending with primary responsibility for driving connectivity and payment solutions in the Gourmet Coffee and Vending market globally. Matt joined Vianet PLC in May 2015 having spent the previous 20 years working for Nestle and Kraft Foods. Matt has held various posts including senior commercial, operational and divisional leadership roles during which he developed extensive knowledge of the out of home coffee and vending market.
